It’s always a dream to have your house interior look like how it does in magazines or pinterest boards, but might seem like it’ll be too expensive to recreate. There are some tips and tricks you can follow to achieve your goals of a luxe interior design on a budget.

Plan everything out beforehand

Take a step back and have a look at the space you are decorating. What kind of pieces do you want in your space? Do you have a theme in mind? Browsing the internet and making a pinterest board, or throwing some furniture and decoration pieces into photoshop, help with visualizing how everything works together and what clashes. Know what you want and do the proper research on the pieces. This helps to eliminate impulse buying, and finding out later that it doesn’t match or you find the same item at a cheaper price.

Shop vintage

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and this will never not be trendy. Though it may take some time and searching, it’s always a great feeling when you are able to display a little bit of history within your home without the expensive price tag attached. Shopping at vintage stores is also just fun! Seeing how things were back then, and knowing that what you get has lasted this long and is now considered “limited edition”. It’s not your average Target decoration piece, it’s one of a kind.

Use mirrors

Using mirrors, especially in a small space, is a great way to give the illusion of space. A full body mirror gives the illusion of another doorway to more space, and smaller mirrors can look like windows. Though it may not actually increase the square footage of a space, it definitely helps to make a room not look as crammed.

Peel and stick wallpapers

Having a large/oversized abstract wall art already makes a room look absolutely luxurious, but owning one is equally as expensive. So why not make your own wall art with peel and stick wallpapers? Just cut out the dimensions that you want to stick on the wall, and frame the surrounding simply with some cheap softwood boards. A quick and simple DIY that helps elevate a space and make it a beautiful centerpiece.

A splash of greenery

This last tip is to simply add greenery to your space. Whether it be real or fake plants, having them will help make a room feel more alive. The options are limitless too; use vine plants, flower bouquets, or even indoor trees. If buying live plants is too expensive or too much maintenance, then simply head to the nearest craft store and make your own plant display!
